35% Cut in Federal Excise taxes
This may sound interesting, you may say, but it probably is one of those tax cuts for the rich you always hear about. Well, no, excise taxes are the taxes you pay in your everyday lives. Many of these are those taxes and fees you do not understand, but are told to pay without question. Some of these are so powerfully put into place that even non-profits have to pay them that I consider an outrage.
Here are some everyday items you probably pay Excise Taxes on:
- Cellphone
- Home phone
- Cable
- Internet
- Alcohol
- Gasoline
- Tobacco
- Airline Tickets
- Railway Tickets
- Bus Tickets
- Automobile
The above are just a sampling of products and services on which you have to pay excise taxes directly. In some cases, several versions, which makes no sense to me other than a way to extract more money from you. Have you ever wondered where your hard earned money sometimes disappears to, even if you are “behaving”? Do not let anyone make you feel bad about what you do with your money, these excise taxes are taking a nice chunk of your income.
The wonderful aspect of the 35% Tax Cut in excise taxes would be that you should notice it almost immediately. The law would go after any vendor who would try to pocket it as they sometimes do when some Tax or Fee is reduced. This would greatly help the economy and lift everyone upward as you finally see that you have some extra money to spend or save. This is not some esoteric tax credit where you have hire someone to fill out some complicated TAX schedule at the end of the year and it costs you almost as much as you are saving. It is not a “tax cut” for the rich, where only they will enjoy its benefits. This is for all Americans. This is REAL CHANGE!
